Why you joined Sigma Alpha Zeta: I never pictured myself ever joining a sorority, but after experiencing the amount of dedication each sister puts into this organization I couldn’t help but fall in love with SAZ. Every one of our sisters joined SAZ for what they saw, whether it be our dedication to our philanthropy, Domestic Violence Awareness, or our mad work hosting 150 high school students through our College Link Outreach Program, we do it all with an undeniable passion.
What have you gained/learned since becoming a sister: Aside from gaining a true support system and establishing a "home away from home," SAZ has taught me how to network and gain experience in a professional setting. I was able to grow in both business and personal aspects, learning how to hold myself and my sisters to the highest standards.

Why you joined Sigma Alpha Zeta: I joined SAZ in search of familiarity and to create a home away from home. Seeing how the sisters presented themselves in a professional light and how genuine their sisterhood was, I knew it was something that I wanted to be a part of. One of the biggest motivators in joining SAZ was their dedication to community service, especially their passion towards CLOP and the underrepresented communities. Being a multicultural sorority, I found that SAZ had a multitude of perspectives, personalities, and backgrounds within the sisters. The diversity reminded me of the community that I had been accustomed to back home in the Bay, and I knew I wanted to form part of something larger than myself.
What have you gained/learned since becoming a sister: Since becoming a sister, I have developed and sharpened social and professional skills. Being able to network with alumni and gain connections in and out of UCSB has been vital in my development as a student. Aside from the professional aspect of the sorority, I have gained an everlasting sisterhood. I learned how to be myself around my sisters, and I can say that I have found my home within SAZ. I am now a member a sphere that I am proud to be part of, that motivates me to push myself, and constantly supports me through it all. I couldn't imagine what my life would be like if I hadn't become a sister, and I am forever grateful of all the experiences SAZ has given my this far.

Why you joined Sigma Alpha Zeta: I joined because I saw the amount of confidence that these women had. I knew that with every step they took they knew that they're sisters were by their sides so they never looked back. I wanted that, I wanted UCSB to be my home away from home and the only way for me to get that was to gain a support system.
What have you gained/learned since becoming a sister: The main thing that I have gained is comfort. The comfort of knowing that my sisters truly have my back and will be there for me. This has allowed me to grow and be a better version of myself, and for that I will always be grateful.

Why you joined Sigma Alpha Zeta: Prior to becoming a sister of Sigma Alpha Zeta, I felt as if I did not belong at UCSB and did not find a support system within the group of friends I had my first year. I joined SAZ because I was able to connect with the girls and find what true sisterhood is. I definitely found my place because of Sigma Alpha Zeta. I love our three pillars--Academic Excellence, Sisterhood, Community Service-- and being able to uphold these with a passion alongside my sisters is amazing.
What have you gained/learned since becoming a sister: Thus far, I have gained a lot of skills that are vital when it comes to being professional. I love the professional aspect of our chapter, and I have learned a lot of this since becoming a sister.

Why you joined Sigma Alpha Zeta: Coming into UCSB, I knew that I wanted to join Sigma Alpha Zeta because they were one of the organizations that hosted the College Link Outreach Program. During my junior year of high school, I participated in this program that gave me an insight to what a 4-year university is like and how first generation students like myself can pursue a higher education. During my first-year at UCSB, the sisters were more than welcoming and provided me with a home away from home.
What have you gained/learned since becoming a sister: Joining Sigma Alpha Zeta has helped me develop more professionally and has provided me with a support system that I will forever cherish.
